Advent is known as a time of joyful waiting. Before the rush of celebrations that mark the Christmas season, we take time together to reflect upon the meaning of the Christmas story and to prepare with joyful expectation for the Nativity.

Each community has Advent activities that have grown with time to become treasured traditions. These traditions reveal the depth of the life that we share together. As you share the journey of Advent in your own community, we invite you to reflect upon our core value ‘Live in Joy’. How do your traditions help you to share joy with your community?

We would like to thank the communities who have shared their traditions with us for this newsletter. We hope that their stories both inspire you and bring you joy. We would also like to thank the Sage and Time project, and the members of the Daybreak day program for completing and photographing this month’s activities.

If you have any comments or would like to provide input or photos for future newsletters, please contact Elizabeth Nash at enash@larche.ca.
