Understanding the Context of Communication Today
Since its creation three years ago, L'Arche Canada-Communications has been developing action plans and expertise to support L'Arche's internal communication needs and its primary outreach and external communication objectives.
We can affirm that we now have significant communications capacity and competence. With few resources, the Communications team responds to many internal and external communication needs in a bilingual context, often working in a myriad of directions.
In the effort to be faithful to our mission of announcing L'Arche to the world, many hopes and dreams for communication efforts are emerging. It is therefore important to clarify our expectations and to establish a common understanding of the communications work today and for the future. Our challenge is to focus the communications function more sharply, to determine what we should be doing and what we should not be doing, given the limits of our resources.limits of our resources.
The final recommendations emerging from the present Communication Review will be integrated into L'Arche Canada’s Communications Action Plan as of April 2010, so that we may better serve the development of L'Arche in Canada.
