We will soon create a new look for the official website of larche.ca. On this new site, you will find a page called “Viewpoints on L’Arche and Disabilities – From the Eyes of Artists.” In this section, we plan to present photo reports, portraits and scenes from daily life at L’Arche.
Once again the question emerges. What about consent and image copyright? It’s a delicate subject. Laws have been put into place in order to protect people’s privacy, whether they have an intellectual disability or not. We must ensure that we have people’s consent before we post their photos on the Internet. But is this consent sufficient? Today, we would like to report on an unusual process that first began in L’Arche Paris. By transcending the restricting legalities that were supposed to protect them, core members were able to write a “Charter of Communication” that inspired a surprising and exciting approach to communication. Intrigued, we asked Nicolas Favreau, the head of communications at L’Arche Paris to tell us about this new, innovative charter.
