In this issue of the newly named ‘Core Values Newsletter’ we have focused upon the theme of ‘Journey.’ Each one of us is at a different stage in our personal life and L’Arche Journey. Some of us have just arrived in L’Arche and some are seasoned travellers. Some of us were delegates at ‘Journey to Belfast,’ the International Federation Meeting in June, and are preparing to share about the experience. Wherever one may be on the journey, we go forward together and strive to do so with respect for one another.

We have changed our name from ‘Bubble of the Month’ to ‘Core Values Newsletter.’ Can you guess why this is? It is because each issue focuses upon one of the Core Values of L’Arche, and is meant to help us reflect upon and ‘bring to life’ this Core Value in all the places where we share life together: our homes, offices, Day Programs, Board Meetings, times of Community Prayer and Gatherings. Contributions of content from you create a window to see some of the ways our Core Values are being lived out. Going forward, we also hope to add new and meaningful ways for you, the reader, to use the newsletter. We would like to hear from you; how do you use the newsletter, what are your favorite parts, and how could we make it a better tool for you to use in your daily life?

This issue also marks the start of the new Core Values Newsletter Committee. We wish to thank Laura Manickaraj (L’Arche Calgary), Tanya Lee (L’Arche Daybreak), and Elizabeth Nash (L’Arche Canada) for saying yes to helping us to continue this journey together.
