A Media Breakthrough for L'Arche Haiti in La Croix
Evelyne Verdier

Dear friends in L'Arche,

Ever since the earthquake which struck Haiti and our community of Carrefour so hard, we have received your messages of encouragement. Calls from Jean Vanier to Jacqueline brought us the comfort we needed to keep moving forward. Everyone here appreciates the acts of solidarity reaching us from all corners of the Federation. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

After spending a number of nights outside under the stars, the members of L'Arche Carrefour now shelter under tents. A number of the community’s members have been welcomed and are happily settling into L'Arche in Chantal. However, we are concerned about the difficulties that may arise with our temporary housing in tents as the rainy season approaches. Please keep L'Arche Haiti and its members in your prayers. The challenge of reconstruction is enormous.

I would also like to let you know that yesterday L'Arche Haiti made a small breakthrough into the French media. The Mwen pa fou blog, which I invite you to read if you don’t already do so, was profiled in the March 11 “Internet” column of the French newspaper La Croix.

The blog is written by Jonathan, an assistant at L'Arche Chantal, and I invite you to learn more about our situation by reading it regularly. The link is:  http://www.larche.ca/reporters/jonathan/mwen_pa_fou/en

You can find the article in La Croix online.  if you have not had the chance to read the newspaper:

Please continue to write to us; your messages tell us that we are part of the same family. This feeling of belonging to a common humanity encourages our hopes for a new country and for renewed communities that carry forward the mission of L'Arche.
