Description
As part of a team, the Program Assistant participates in caring for the health, emotional and hygiene needs of the members of the program, ensuring adherence with the Ministry Guidelines and L’Arche Daybreak’s policies and procedures, the mission of L’Arche and the spirit of welcome that is part of the fabric of the Craft Studio.
The ideal Assistant will possess the following:
- understanding L’Arche and its mission
- strong team spirit able to work cooperatively
- demonstrated ability to monitor and respond to sudden changing environment
- demonstrated ability to empower others and promote independence
- demonstrated ability to break down various processes to ensure success for core members
- demonstrated ability to manage financial books for Studio
- effective communication skills
- proven conflict resolution skills
- detail oriented
- demonstrated ability to fully implement and monitor behavioural support plans and supporting documents
- demonstrated sense of creativity
- excellent fine and gross motor skills
- stamina and energy to meet the physical demands of the role
- experience supporting individuals with complex behavioural, physical, and medical needs
- experience working in a handcraft environment
